On The Turntable In 1967: 'Expressway to Your Heart' - The Soul Survivors
I want to put this car on the Expressway to Sweetie's Heart!

New on the market in 1967: Having been tested in a few outlets, 7-11's Slurpees became available in all locations in 1967.
Obviously a good marketing decision. What would 7-11 be without Slurpees?

Let's look at a couple of the lines from the 1967 Imperial sales brochure:
"The seats are styled after those found on executive aircraft. They are swathed with leather and garnished with nylon fur trim." (nylon fur trim? How many nylons had to die for Chrysler to trim those seats?)

The convertible top is described as "Seville-grained vinyl which mounts flush to retain Imperial's unruffled silhouette. The new tonneau fasteners are concealed. They cannot disturb the Imperial's poise."
I suppose if you spend the big bucks to get a new 1967 Imperial you don't want your poise interrupted by some cheesy little tonneau fasteners, now would you? And as a bonus, you can be assured that your silhouette will remain unruffled! I love the language of the sales brochures of the 50s and 60s. The mad men of the day might have been rude and crude but they knew how to write good lines. Today's artless prose is inane.
