1956 GMC 100 pickup truck

Now this truck isn't pretty but it's a truck I would love to have. It looked all there and could be restored, or just driven and shown as it is. It has what we called in the restoration business a nice patina, which is mostly a crock to give praise to a car or truck that the owner had not yet spent a fortune for restoration. Although if you're into historic Ferraris and Maseratis, patina is scored quite high. Patina is also a good thing for a rat rod.

Personally I like the style of this truck and the fact that it isn't the usual Ford or Chevy (I know, I'm breaking the law by calling it a Chevy - so sue me). I like the way the spare tire is mounted and the wraparound rear window, a very advanced styling concept in the 50's.

Notice that nothing has been restored yet except for the wheels, which look freshly cleaned and painted with new hubcaps and widey whites. This truck was one of my favorites for this show.
